College and Professional Sports Teams
Due to the diverse experiences of Making the Difference International, Inc., they have been sought by college and professional sports teams to assist in creating conduct management programs. MDI creates programs that are specific to the needs of that particular sport, as well as to that exact team. Areas of specialty are decision making skills specifically looking at working with young people and decisions regarding relationships, both familial as well as intimate. Anger management and substance use prevention has also been an area of great interest from the teams’ perspective. Too many times, young athletes are put into precarious situations and can easily make the wrong decision, which not only affects themselves but also the team and the organization.
There has been an increase of media attention on athletes getting in trouble or having personal issues this not only affects the individual athlete’s mental and physical health but also affects their athletic ability. Teams understand the need to have a person or organization that they can reach out to before problems arise or to assist to decrease any additional negative consequences.
